Safari World

About Us

The Safari World story.

A West African ecosystem

Since the launch of Aqua Safari Eco Resort in Ada, Ghana, Safari World has gradually become West Africa's number one tourist destination and the region's first fully integrated eco-tourism and lifestyle destination brand.

What began as a single eco-luxury resort has evolved into a tourism ecosystem with three major destinations, over 20 unique experiences, and operations spread across eight companies.

  • Aqua Safari Eco Resort
  • Safari Valley Eco Resort
  • Safari Homes
  • Safari Eco Park
  • Safari Nautica
  • Safari Recreation and Sports
  • The Ceiba Restaurant
  • The Green Shop

Founded by two Ghanaian forest scientists Samuel Afari Dartey and his co-founder Mr. Richard Nsenkyire, the group was built around the vision of creating world-class destinations that preserve natural ecosystems while promoting tourism, conservation, and responsible development. At the heart of Safari World is a commitment to eco-consciousness and sustainability.

Across its properties, Safari World integrates renewable energy initiatives, wastewater recycling systems, biodiversity preservation, low-density developments, and environmental education programs.

Beyond hospitality, Safari World has become a major contributor to tourism growth in Ghana and West Africa, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs while positioning Ghana as a leading destination for experiential and eco-tourism, wildlife and sustainable travel experiences.

Our philosophy

A world-class hospitality brand that brings people closer to nature.

Every Safari World property begins with the land. We design for stillness, privacy and quiet luxury — using local materials, indigenous planting and architecture that defers to the landscape.

Sustainability isn't a programme; it's the brief. Solar arrays, rainwater systems, on-property farms and responsible sourcing are woven into the everyday operation of every resort.

Leadership

Our founder.

Samuel Afari Dartey

Samuel Afari Dartey is a Forest Scientist and Natural Resource Economist specialised in forestry, wildlife, climate change and environmental sustainability, wood processing and value addition, enterprise development and eco-tourism.

Across his career he has served as a CEO, Board Member and Board Chairman in public and private organisations. As an entrepreneur, he is involved in a variety of businesses across multiple industries — with a passion for nature forming the core of all of them.

Inspired by travels through Ghana and around the world, he has witnessed serene environments destroyed and destroyed environments turned into world-class natural settings. He chose to be part of the latter — to "build a world-class environmentally conscious hospitality brand that brings people closer to nature."
